She is so deep in imaginative play that I love to just listen to her from another room and see what stories she will come up with next. She has been playing independently for a while now, but I'm starting to really appreciate it with the baby on the way. I know that it's going to be a huge adjustmet, but I think that Lily is going to really love being a big sister. She is already talking about all the things that she is going to teach the baby. Every time I ask her if she wants a brother or a sister she says she wants a sister. I have absolutely no feeling about the sex of the baby. I thought Lily was a boy....so I'm not very good at guessing. Everyone seems to think it's a boy, but I will be happy either way. Only a few more weeks until we get to find out and then the real planning can begin.

I know that all the books say it's too early to feel the baby move, but I have felt it. Last week I started feeling something that I thought was the baby, but this week I know it was for sure. A little bump, bump here and there. I also read that second time mothers can feel it earlier. This pregnancy is like riding a bike, you kind of forget everything, but then it all comes back to you.

Keep us in your prayers for a healthy baby.

Baby on Board

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 134px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_1CI1Nsqv3GE/S0Tf0K5un9I/AAAAAAAAQ6Q/JgX_ByqEZhk/s200/10+weeks+(1).JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5423705938633596882" />
Sooo...I'm pregnant! Woo hoo! I'm 12 weeks now which puts my due date in mid July. We are so excited and nervous. It's hard to imagine adding any more to our family...I feel like I will miss it being just the three of us. Lily is very excited, although I'm not sure she fully understands. She says that she wants a sister, but calls the baby a "he". She asks for the baby to come occasionally because she wants to play with (him). It's very cute and I think that she will love being a big sister. She is such an amazing daughter and I have really enjoyed watching her grow and understand the world around her. She says things to me almost daily that just amaze me..she knows and understands so much at such a young age..amazing.

I haven't gained any weight yet, although I do have a little belly starting.

I feel sick most of the time, but it's not so bad that I can't get through the day. If I keep eating little bits, then it seems manageable.

I almost can't wear my jeans anymore, so maternity clothes...here I come!

I haven't made any plans because we are waiting for the all important gender reveal to really start planning.

I don't know if it's a boy or a girl...I don't really have a feeling either way. I would love to have another girl. Lily has been such a joy and I would love for her to have a sister. I would love to have a boy too...having one of each would be amazing. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Big Crumbs!

Anyone who has ever bought anything online please click on this link. She has mastered kicking, scooping, blowing bubble and gliding. She was the star of her class...I'm not just saying that because I'm her mom...she really was the star. Today on the last day they had a free day and they got to go on the water slides. She was so excited that she did it all by herself. She would go down the slide and then get out of the pool and hug me saying "by myself" she is so proud.

First Haircut

Lily got a haircut. Every time I turn on the television all I hear is political spin from one side to the other and never do I feel that any questions are answered sincerely. I'm worried about the stock market, Scott finding a job when he graduates, the continual increase in everything from my trash bill to milk. I wish that I had the mind to analyze or the patience to study, but right now I'm just a little concerned for my family. With that said, I have been reading my voter guide and I still don't know who I'm going to vote for. I love it! I love cold and rain and being cozy, especially around here where the 100 degree days will not soon be missed. My in-laws are visiting and it has been wonderful. Lily is at an age where she is starting to talk and really change from a baby into a little girl. I have always said that the stage she was in was my favorite stage, so with that said....this is my favorite stage. Lily loves her men. Daddy, both Grandpas, Uncle Scott....she loves her men. The women, including me, will take a backseat and only be called upon when one of the men is not around. Oh I hope that this is not a sign of things to come or else her teenage years are going to be rough. Anyway, Grandpa Mike from Colorado (I say from Colorado because BOTH Grandpas are Mike) is her new favorite. She just wants to snuggle on the couch with him while he reads her books. And what used to be cries for Dada Dada, have now turned into cries for Papa Papa. It's very cute. The Coppenger's are enjoying their granddaughter and she sure is enjoying them which makes Scott and I so pleased. She had a big day today and was such a good girl and never lost her cool. I hope that as we move closer to the big "2" she stays this way. I love my princess.

Birthday

Happy Birthday to me....I'm old. We went to San Francisco last weekend to celebrate and it was a great time. We went to Chloe's 1st Birthday party on Saturday which was so much fun for Lily, and Chloe was so cute. We then went to the city and checked into our hotel which was an adventure. I guess our trip fell on the weekend of the Folsom Street Fair, "the Grand Daddy of all leather events" which brought colorful characters to the city, even more colorful than normal if you can believe it. We went to Union Square and took the cable car all the way to Fisherman's Warf. Lily got to see the Sea Lions and smell the sourdough. After a quick nap we went to the beach and took some pictures and looked at the tide pools. It was a very cool birthday. Then today on my acutual birthday I went to work and we had cake. I also was surprised with flowers from Lily and Scott. When I got home we went out to dinner as a family. This weekend my mom is having a breakfast with the extended family. I'm a lucky girl.

Just Me and Lily

I miss my husband. I'm going to post it as soon as I'm finished. My favorite one was today. She was eating kiwi and listening to me sing. Sometimes I have to sing while she eats to distract her if she's not eating well. Anyway I sang as usual and she ate as usual and then she started signing "more...more...more" so we gave her more kiwi. Well, she started to cry and we were confused and she kept signing "more...more". We then figured out she wanted me to keep singing. I started again and she began dancing and smiling. It was so cute, I love her.

Happy Birthday

Today is my daughter's 1st Birthday and I can't believe a year has passed. She is a great sleeper at night, but in the day she refuses to sleep unless she in my or my husbands arms. We've tried letting her cry it out, going for a car ride, everything. It's so sad because around 2:00 or 3:00 her little eyes are so red and tired, but she will not sleep. It's like she thinks that she going to miss everything around her. She also is starting to cry every time I leave or her father leaves the room. My Mom says that they start to realize that they are not attached to you and that it gives them anxiety when you leave. It was be a strange thing to be a baby, I wish that I could remember. I'm just having that best time taking care of her, this is the happiest time for me and I'm loving every minute.

Halloween

It was Lily's first Halloween. I'm wondering if it's just something that women do when they get older. I'm making our Halloween costumes, Tarzan and Jane. They are very easy to do and a great start to learning to sew. My mom is walking me through all the steps, thank goodness or I don't think I would be able to do it. I'm also making curtains for Lily's bedroom. They are so cute. I'll post pics of the finished products and I'm sure you will all be amazed at my domesticness.

Baby Chloe Noel

Nicole was induced on September 25 and Chloe was born on September 26. I'm still getting statements of benefits in the mail. It has been five months, how long could it possibly take to get this right. I guess my doctor's office billed several times since it kept getting turned down. Now every one of those bills is sent in a statement to me. I swear I hold my breath every time I open the mailbox and see one of those dam health comp envelopes. The irony is that we are now back on Blue Cross and my daughter gets to go back to see her original pediatrician that took care of her in the hospital. I hope that when we finally get permanent insurance that we will stay in this network. I want Lily to stay with Dr. Biag.

Lily Eats Solid Food

Well, we finally did it. It's kind of weird to have to sum up your life on one page. Having the right resume is what gets an employers attention and could change your professional life. In most fields it's very bad to have your resume more than on page. I come from an industry where that is not true. Fitness professionals have 10 to 15 page resumes to list the many certifications and publications that are achieved. Scott's sister said that if Lee Iacoca can get his resume on one page, then so should he.

Million Dollar Idea

So a few weeks ago I started to sell some stuff on eBay. No big deal, just some stuff we had around the house. Well my Mom got me all pumped up about starting a business on eBay to sell children's clothing, which I'll really into right now. I love to shop so what a perfect little business to try and make some extra money. It's off to a slow start, but I figure everything will work itself out as I go along. She was sick for the first time. One Friday she had the sniffles and was coughing. Then her eyes were watering, so of course I called the doctor. They told me that I should get some saline drops for her nose and to call back if she gets worse. I have a well baby doctors appointment tomorrow. Poor baby. I don't know if I will ever stop worrying about her. I guess it's just a mom thing which I'm sure will drive her CRAZY someday. Oh well, she will just have to deal with it.

Rough Week

Sorry I haven't posted all week, it's been a really bad couple of days. First of all Lily is teething and she fusses and is in so much pain and I don't know how to help her. I try the cool ring for her to chew on, Tylenol, and I try to distract her as much as possible but it's hard. My normally happy baby just cries all the time, it's really hard. I had a bunch of dental work done and my teeth are very sensitive and sore and it's difficult to chew anything. We also had a death in my family which was expected, but happened a lot faster than I thought it would. I've also been trying to get this eBay business off the ground while going through all this other stuff. I just haven't been myself and Scott is so busy at work that he can't help me. To top it all off, we are having company this weekend and I have been trying to clean up and get the guest room in order. It's still not done, but it's done enough to put the bed back in there. What a week.

Go Jamba!

Well I think I'm in the clear. It appears as if Jamba Juice pulled through and I'm not going to have to pay for Lily's hospital care. I sent them an email complaint because calling them is not working. I'm getting really pissed. It's just a $5.40 swimsuit we are talking about, it's not anything big, it's just the principle of being treated right and having good customer service. If I don't hear from them today I'm going to call them again on Monday. I called them for the first time on 8/2, you would think this could be resolved over 3 weeks later.

Swimming

Lily has only experienced a few occasions in the pool. The first time I think she was too young and felt cold. The second time was last night and I think she's starting to really like it. She looked so cute in her little swim suit that she got from her Aunt Megan and Uncle Brett. She was laughing while Scott whirled her around, but by the time I started filming she was just smiling. So cute! I love it when she kicks her legs! After all the expected aches and pains healed I thought I was in the clear, but I was wrong. My hair is falling out. It's very noticeable to me and very noticeable when you look at the floor of my bathroom. I've been reading that it's starts to even out between 6-12 months, we'll see. Also I've had arthritis like symptoms. My ankles, knees, hips, wrists and elbows hurt bad, especially the first few hours in the morning. It's possible all of this is a thyroid imbalance, or so I've heard. It's truly a miracle to experience the creation and birth of life, and the human body is unbelievable, complicated and amazing.

Sweet Lily

My little daughter is growing up so fast. Now I understand what all the adults were always talking about when I was a little kid. They would say, "oh, you are getting so big" or "the last time I saw you, you were so small now look at you"! I used to just roll my eyes and try to get out of there as quick as possible. My baby is just 3 months old, but she's rolling over, laughing and sitting up with a little support. I guess when I was pregnant I just figured everything would take a long time to develop, but I was so wrong. I can't express enough how much it means to me to be able to stay home and teach her and watch her develop. I have to thank my wonderful husband for letting me do this.

Is Lilac The New Gray??

So my husband and I are in the process of upgrading our house. We are down to the bedrooms and bathrooms. Currently, we are working on our guest bedroom. I painted the walls yesterday and I'm very disappointed. I picked out a light gray color that I thought would look great with the pure white crown molding. Well the color turned out to be more like lilac. Yuck. I really don't want a purple guest room. Does anyone want any lilac paint??

I Hate Macys.com

I hate it when you just need a simple answer and the customer service rep is not helpful at all. I went yesterday and found out I had four cavities, one was so bad that it was almost down to the root. Things have really changed in dentistry, my old dentist really needs to upgrade. My new dentist does everything digital and the screen is right in front of you. The x-rays are digital and have 90% less radiation than regular ones. They even have a camera they put in your mouth so you can see everything that's going on, it's crazy! I pledge to you now, and I urge you to follow my lead, see your dentist as often as you can and don't forget to floss.

The Anti-Baby Shower

Times are changing and so are the baby showers. I just had mine in March of this year. It was given by my sister and my best friend. I really wanted a couples kind of shower since my wedding shower was strictly women and full of games, punch and cake. I told my sister that I wanted it more gender neutral, but it still ended up being "shower" like. Well last Saturday I threw a shower for a good friend who is due in September. This was a great anti-shower, with just enough cuteness to make the girls say "ahhhh". I figured the only way to get a bunch of men to come was to feed them chili and beer. The couple had the great idea of calling it a BaByQ which eliminated the word shower all together. I still managed to throw in cupcakes and little keepsake favors, but for the most part it was a BBQ (that also had presents containing little booties and dresses). I say let the anti-showers grow and multiply, and men, don't be afraid of the little booties.

Don't wear Yellow Jackets in the summer

So I was at brunch on Sunday and it was so beautiful. We were in Sausalito on the balcony of a great hotel overlooking the bay. It was warm and sunny, beautiful brunch weather. Well, I found out that in late summer yellow jackets start going a little crazy because all of the delicious bugs that they have been eating all summer are in short supply. So as a result they start to turn their attention to human food. Well an uninvited brunch guest was buzzing the food all morning, and wouldn't you know of all the people there he decided to make me his victim. I felt a sting on my neck and I knew it was that dam yellow jacket. My friend put some ice on it and it started to feel a little better, then I felt something on my arm. My friend told me I should go into the bathroom and take my shirt off. When I did I found a thorn like stinger with a sac of goo on my arm. I must have brushed the yellow jacket and detached his sting thing. Anyway, the little pest was just hanging out on my shirt! I can't believe he was in there the whole time. So the two stings started to welt up and hurt. Now it's two days latter and they are still stingy and itchy. So the moral of the story, yellow jackets are mean.

First Day

So what is this blogging all about? I see that everyone has their own little world in cyberspace these days and I wanted one to call my own. I hope to capture all the random thoughts that I have and to preserve these precious days that I'm staying home and raising my daughter. I suppose it's like an on-line diary. I wish that I had done all of this when I was getting married, or expecting my daughter, so to all you girls and guys out there that are about to have a life changing event, take a few minutes to post some thoughts, you'll be glad you did later. Today I received a crazy email from my mom with some memorable pics, check out my favorite - creepy, but cool.

.
